Actually not true at all Ger. SEO is one of the most satisfying jobs around. I know the feeling I get when I achieve a top ranking, and the money comes rolling is second to only one other thing :)

The reason it's hard to get a dedicated SEO is because anybody who can do it well work for themselves and reap the rewards themselves.

Example a company says they will pay you X to achieve a top ranking for the term "widgets". If you get the term "widgets" to number one you could sell that traffic to any widget company and make X all day every day.

Once you have the Goose that lays the golden egg it's pointless renting it out.
